Painting

Barbara Belin's latest workgroups consist of horizontally plates with a wide form and structured area. Couloured underlayd grey, bohemian green earth and warm brown-ochre, burned Siena and caput mortuum dominate the single picture plates which surface texture reveals a complex colour application and time-consuming working process.

Thoughts of fresco- and seccopaintings arise. Barbara Belin's paintings tell us her appreciation and relatedness with the art of past centuries through the use of classical pigments and colours as well as with the handling and the formal treatmend of her works.

Barbara Belin picks questions up with her art - questions after the material and its treatment - after used form- and colourcanon and its declaration. With serial drafting she is always searching for new possibilities to enhance her picture themes in variations. The plates and working cycles complement one another, more they involve one another, to provide space for the artistically intention for athmospheric effect.
